
WORKSTREAM ACTIVITY: Impact and sustainability
European University Cyprus (EUC) was the first higher private educational institution to be established in Cyprus. EUC has a reputation for excellence and innovation in research. With an emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches it is one of the leading academic and research institutions in Cyprus. The University has a broad portfolio of research activity, spread across departments and schools. Research activity is centered in the schools and research centres/institutes, which include the School ofArts and Education Sciences, School of Business Administration, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Sciences.
The Department of Education Sciences has an established track record of both teaching and research in Inclusive Education and issues concerning disabilities. Its Master’s degree in Special/Inclusive Education teaches students about educational, political, philosophical and theoretical aspects of inclusive education, as well as providing knowledge and skills for the identification, evaluation and effective education of children with disabilities with the use of assistive technology and accessible ICT. The faculty’s research and teaching experience involves issues of teachers’ training for inclusive education, assistive technology and universal design for learning, as well as the promotion of collaboration and multi-disciplinarity in the area of disability. The Department has significant expeience of undertaking previous European projects and will lead the Impact and Sustainability workstream.
