The ESIPP project’s seventh transnational meeting was held between the 2 and 3 November, the day after the successful ESIPP conference “Helping and supporting parents of autistic children” (held in the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle and attended by more than 150 participants).

During this two-days meeting, 18 partners from 5 different countries gathered at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje (FYR of Macedonia) to exchange updates about the project and assess the results of ESIPP’s third multiplier event. Prof. Dr. Vladimir Petrushevski, Vice Rector for Science and Research, welcomed partners to the university and wished them a successful and fruitful meeting.

Since the beginning of the project, 204 parents have been participated in ESIPP trainings by attending all core sessions (54 from the FYR of Macedonia, 76 from Cyprus and 74 from Croatia) and 16 local trainers have been trained. The remaining ESIPP training sessions will be delivered in February and March 2018.

Partners also discussed the next steps of the project, including the evaluation of the quantitative and qualitative data collected throughout the project’s lifespan, the improvement of the next parent training sessions (by establishing new settings and trainings, and identifying and addressing local issues regarding structure, differentiation and emphasis), the development of policy recommendations and the sustainability of the project.

This meeting was kidnly hosted by the Macedonian Scientific Society for Autism (MSSA). ESIPP partners will meet again in March 2018 in Limassol, Cyprus. The fourth ESIPP conference will be held the day before this meeting. The project foresees nine transnational meetings and four one-day conferences over its three-year lifespan.
