The ESIPP project’s eighth transnational meeting was held between the 22 and 23 March, the day after the ESIPP conference “Helping and supporting parents of autistic children” (Panos Solomonidis Hall attended by more than 80 participants).
During this two-days meeting, 16 partners from 5 different countries gathered at the Pattichion Municipal Museum- Historical Archives of Lemesos (Cyprus) to exchange updates about the project and assess the results of ESIPP’s fourth multiplier event.
Since the beginning of the project, 335 parents have been participated in ESIPP trainings in 18 different cities by attending 25 core sessions (89 from the FYR of Macedonia, 132 from Cyprus and 114 from Croatia). Besides, 115 parents have been attending non-core sessions and 18 local trainers have been trained.
Partners also discussed the next steps of the project, including evaluation of the quantitative and qualitative data collected throughout the project’s lifespan, the improvement of the next parent training sessions (by establishing new settings and trainings, and identifying and addressing local issues regarding structure, differentiation and emphasis), the development of the Autism Parent Training Roadmap, the launch of the ESIPP Recommendations for policy-makers and the sustainability of the project.
This meeting was kindly hosted by the Center of Development and Support for Children and Teenagers – AASP (Autism Assessment Support Practice). ESIPP partners will meet again in July 2018 in Zagreb, Croatia. The project foresees nine transnational meetings and four one-day conferences over its three-year lifespan.
